Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 July 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PostgresRun managed-database service, websites, and dashboard (together, the "Service"), operated by PostgresRun ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation.
2. The Service
PostgresRun provisions and operates PostgreSQL database instances on your behalf on cloud infrastructure. Features, plans, sizes, and pricing are described in the dashboard and may change over time. We aim to keep the Service available and performant but do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee (SLA); the Service is provided on a commercially reasonable-effort basis.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. You must be at least 18 years old and not barred from receiving the Service under applicable law.
4. Billing and payments
- Databases are billed per instance on a recurring subscription, charged through our payment processor, Stripe. You authorise recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel.
- Prices are shown before you confirm a purchase. Taxes may apply and be added at checkout.
- You can cancel a database's subscription at any time from the dashboard or billing portal; cancellation stops future renewals and deprovisions the database. Proration or credits, where offered, are shown at the time of the change.
- Failed payments may lead to suspension and, after a grace period, deprovisioning of the affected database, as described in the dashboard.
- Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to: violate any law or third-party rights; store or transmit malware; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other customers' data; disrupt or overload the infrastructure; or resell the Service in a manner that circumvents our pricing. We may suspend databases that threaten the integrity, security, or lawful operation of the Service.
6. Your data
You retain all rights to the data you store in your databases ("Customer Data"). You are responsible for the lawfulness of Customer Data and for having the rights needed to store and process it. We access Customer Data only as needed to operate, secure, back up, and support the Service, or as you direct. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Backups
We maintain automated backups of databases to help recover from failures, and we back up our own control-plane data off-site. Backups are a safety measure, not a substitute for your own backups of business-critical data; we do not guarantee that every point in time is recoverable.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your databases at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or to comply with law, generally with notice where practicable. On termination, associated databases and their data may be deleted; export any data you need beforehand.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us for the Service in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date and, where appropriate, notified to you. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about these Terms: support@postgresrun.com.
